Introduction to Harare Institute of Technology Inc, USA
Harare Institute of Technology Inc is a non-profit corporation formed to support the growth of Innovation and Technopreneurial activities in Africa being driven from the Harare Institute of Technology. The corporation seeks to drive institutional advancement and growth to enable the provision of a world class education in science and technology on the African Continent.
Despite a large talent pool in Africa, education in most countries is underfunded thus threatening the quality of delivery and in most instances access to the under privileged members of society. The Corporation seeks to support the development of a new model of technological education through provision of resources to put in place state of the art equipment and infrastructure resulting in the development, incubation, transferring and commercialisation of cutting edge technology that spearheads rapid industrialisation on the African Continent.
The implementation of disruptive innovation models coupled with improved access to quality technical education is core to the activities of the corporation.
Our coming into existence was based on our belief that current educational challenges in Africa require committed individuals who have a wide industry experience to be able to provide strategic solutions on institutional growth and development issues.
The exposures gained by our team through international assignments undertaken in the past and present, broadened our scope to be innovative in our approach to supporting public education in Africa.
We believe that through supporting capacity building in STEM education, we shape the future development of human capital coming from Africa to address skills gaps at a global scale.
Despite Africa having a critical mass of talent both tapped and untapped, further development has been stifled by resource constraints. As such it is our goal to develop a resource pool to support tech based enterprises to position Africa as a strategic partner in the Digital Revolution.
Our Directors, partners and associate consultants have an appreciation of the benefits of education collaborations between African Institutions and other global players but for this to be achieved, equity in education access needs to be supported from an economic, social and cultural perspective.
